Bijaylakshmi, Yogesh, Jagadish, Pratik and Subhajit were part of the program. Prof. Sinha chaired a session at the meeting.

He is a renowned expert on computational fluid dynamics of high speed flows, with particular interest in flow control applications.

Bijaylakshmi Saikia submitted a paper on "Effect of Prandtl number on the linear stability of compressible Couette flow", coauthored with A. Ramachandran, K. Sinha and R. Govindarajan to International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow on 17/12/2015.
Dr. Meelan Choudhari from NASA Langley Research Center, USA visited the Department of Aerospace Engineering on 15 December 2015. He is a Senior Research Scientist in the Computational AeroSciences Branch, and was hosted by Prof. Krishnendu Sinha. He gave a talk on "Who Dun It — LaminarTurbulent Transition via Discrete Roughness Elements" in hypersonic flows and interacted closely with the students in Hypersonic CFD lab. Russell Quadros, Bijaylakshmi Saikia and Pratikkumar Raje gave short presentations on their respective works.
Pratikkumar Raje Submitted a paper on "A physically consistent and numerically robust kepsilon model for computing turbulent flows with shock waves" , coauthored with Prof. Krishnendu Sinha, on 07/12/ 2015 to Computers & Fluids, Elsevier.
Prof. Sinha attended the Annual meeting of the American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics from 2123 November 2015 at Boston, MA. He gave a talk on "Effect of Prandtl Number on the Stability of Compressible Couette flow." A poster on "Turbulent Energy Flux Generated by Shock/Homogeneous Turbulence Interaction" was also presented.	Download
Prof. Sinha visited the University of Maryland and gave a seminar titled "Shockturbulence interaction an elegant theoretical problem with interesting practical application" on 19 November 2015.
Ashwin Ramachandran was awarded the President of India Medal for being the most outstanding of all the students who have completed the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Technology in the year 2015. (Link)

Ashwin Ramachandran, who completed his B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering recently, got admission at Stanford University in Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics for Masters program.
Prof. Krishnendu Sinha, along with Russel Quadros, PhD student, attended the Ninth International Symposium on Turbulence and Shear Flow Phenomena held at University of Melbourne, Australia from June 30 to July 3, 2015. He was the chairperson for the session of compressible flows.
Bijaylakshmi Saikia presented a paper titled "Linear stability of highspeed boundary layer flows at varying Prandtl numbers" in the 22nd AIAA Computational Fluid Dynamics Conference held at Dallas, Texas from 22 June to 26 June 2015.

The second National Propulsion Conference (NPC) was organised on 23rd & 24th February 2015 at IIT Bombay campus by the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Bombay with the support from the Propulsion Panel of Aeronautics R&D Board.
